The Digitale Kritische Gesamtausgabe Werke und Briefe<\/em> (eKGWB<\/a>)\u00a0is the digital version of the German reference edition of Nietzsche\u2019s works, posthumous fragments, and correspondence edited by Giorgio Colli and Mazzino Montinari (Friedrich Nietzsche, Werke. Kritische Gesamtausgabe, Berlin\/New York, de Gruyter, 1967\u2013 and Nietzsche Briefwechsel. Kritische Gesamtausgabe, Berlin\/New York, de Gruyter, 1975\u2013). The eKGWB is edited by Paolo D\u2019Iorio and published by Nietzsche Source.<\/p>\n

The digitized text of the eKGWB was proofread against the printed edition. It is the first edition to incorporate the roughly\u00a06,600 philological corrections<\/a>\u00a0previously published in various printed commentaries. These corrections are highlighted in the eKGWB, with linked citations that provide the uncorrected text of the print version.<\/p>\n

The eKGWB interface allows readers to consult, cite, and copy the text; to search the entire corpus or delimited parts of it; and to generate lists of search results with or without the surrounding text. All texts and search results can be printed.<\/p>\n

The eKGWB is encoded in XML-TEI<\/a> to ensure interoperability with other text archives. The edition uses a classification system that provides each work, chapter, aphorism or fragment a unique and stable internet address. To facilitate cross-referencing between paper and digital editions, the sigla used in the URL for the eKGWB correspond to the standard abbreviations established by the Colli\/Montinari print edition.\u00a0For example, the first section of The Antichrist<\/em>\u00a0can be reached at the following address: www.nietzschesource.org\/eKGWB\/AC-1<\/a>.\u00a0By using stable URLs with conventional sigla for both published works and unpublished material, the eKGWB is a reliable and citable source for academic research.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
